Cosimo Accoto è attualmente Research Affiliate al MIT di Boston (presso il MIT SSRC Sociotechnical Systems Research Center affiliato al MIT IDSS Institute for Data, Systems and Society). Il suo ultimo saggio si intitola: Il mondo dato. Cinque brevi lezioni di filosofia digitale (Egea, 2017; ed. inglese curata da Derrick de Kerckhove, In Data Time and Tide, Bocconi University Press, in pubblicazione – ottobre 2018 ) e sintetizza la sua attuale ricerca nell’innovazione strategica di business su code economy, data science, artificial intelligence, platform thinking e blockchain business. È autore e coautore di diversi saggi (tra cui Misurare le audience in internet e Social mobile marketing) insieme ad articoli di business (tra cui Intelligenza artificiale: da archivio a oracolo, 2017) apparsi, tra gli altri, sulle riviste Economia & Management della SDA Bocconi e Harvard Business Review Italia. Il suo percorso professionale è maturato nella consulenza strategica di management come partner e responsabile per le strategie d’innovazione, nell’industria internazionale della misurazione di internet e della digital analytics come direttore commerciale e in società leader mondiali nello sviluppo di piattaforme per la data intelligence.

Research Affiliate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Current explorative research studies: data strategy, platform thinking, artificial intelligence, blockchain business, and software theory. Business and Management consultancy/advisory competencies and projects: change management, digital transformation, platform design, open innovation, data intelligence, corporate learning, and organizational analysis.

Previously Visiting Scientist at MIT. Prior to this, I served as Partner & VP Innovation at OpenKnowledge where I helped organizations to envision and enable their digital business transformation (Philips, Luxottica, Eni, A2A, Vodafone, Autogrill, Zegna, Legrand BTicino, Miroglio, Sanofi, Saras, Unipol, Edison). Having formerly worked at international research, data & software firms for more than 15 years, I’ve acquired solid experience in using digital analytics & big data for business intelligence & development serving as Commercial Director at Memis (Confirmit/Kantar networks), Head of Business Development at Jupiter Media Metrix (Comscore), Sales & Service Account at Agb Italy (Nielsen Audience Measurement). Previously Lecturer in Digital Analytics & Big Data at IE University (Madrid), I also collaborated to “Digital Markets” project, IMCA – USI University (Lugano).

I’ve published 4 books + business publications. Author: “Il Mondo Dato” (Egea, 2017; English edition, In Data Time and Tide, Bocconi University Press, forthcoming – October 2018 ); Author: “Intelligenza Artificiale: da archivio a oracolo” (Economia & Management, 2017, 4); Author: “Big Data per il Business” (Economia & Management, 2016); Coauthor: “The PlatFirm Age” (HBR, 2016), “La grande sfida della digital disruption” (HBR, 2015). Author of the afterword to “Fisica Sociale” (Alex Pentland, Università Bocconi Editore, 2015).
